Playing Dress-Up With the Best of 'Em

Last month, Kristin Uekermann of The Boston Fashionista and Jewelry-maker extraordinaire Sophie Hughes and I hit up Towne Stove and Spirits with our Date-Night outfit inspiration. You can see the first look by Walter Baker here, and my second look was this amazing, unexpected, and most-importantly, digitally-printed frock by Cynthia Rowley. It's made out of an amazing, sturdy silk faille, which gives perfect structure, and made me feel dressed up without being fussy. Sophie opted for a leather shift dress, also from Cynthia Rowley, and Kristin rocked a red dress from Bow and Drape, an online label that provides customizable dresses and separates (most are under $300!)

Racked Boston published these looks for Valentines Day. Here's what we told Racked about our looks:

Over the holidays (doesn't that feel like a lifetime ago?) several Boston bloggers took it upon themselves to do a festive photoshoot—and for Valentine's Day, a couple ladies branched off for a date outfit series. With Towne Stove and Spirits as a backdrop, bloggers Renata Certo-Ware and Kristen Uekermann joined jewelry designer Sophie Hughes in styling two looks each, shot by Ryuji Suzuki with makeup by Elena Kucerova.

Leather dresses, lovely patterns, and varying shades of red leaves us thinking that these ladies have lucky dates! Enjoy these never-before-seen shots of the trio frolicking around this massive modern hot spot. Plus, we've got the outfit by outfit breakdown!
KRISTEN UEKERMANN
Inspiration—Va-va-voom glamour.
Leather look—Cynthia Rowley leather dress, Christian Siriano for Payless shoes, Second bag, Sophie Hughes Jewelry
Maxi dress—The Diane Maxi by Bow & Drape, Kate Spade shoes, Sophie Hughes Jewelry.
RENATA CERTO WARE
Inspiration—Romantic; anything but typical.
Oxblood look—This dress is so on-trend without being obnoxious, or worse, disposable. I love the rich oxblood color of the dress, but the details (the faux leather collar, the lace yoke, and the peplum—swoon!) keep it super-current. Dress, W118 by Walter Baker. Tights, Hue at Lord and Taylor. Shoes, Steve Madden. Clutch, Vintage. Rings, Sophie Hughes.
Patterned dress look— I cannot get enough of digital printing! The slick, structured, almost space-age material of the dress gave it a stronger silhouette without being uncomfortable...just enough structure to make me sit up a little straighter. Plus, even though it's got a lot going on—criss-cross front and back, a drop waist—it still wears like an LBD. Dress, Cynthia Rowley. Shoes, Nine West. Rings, Sophie Hughes.
SOPHIE HUGHES
Inspiration—Effortlessly chic.
Printed top and leather look leggings—Edgy, sophisticated, and sexy with sheer and black (faux) leather. A hint of whimsy with the color pops on the yoke and undergarments. Top, Emerson. Necklace, earrings, and rings, Sophie Hughes.  Leggings, American Apparel. Shoes, designer's own.

Chestnut dress—Timeless leather dress in an unexpected chestnut color, with side paneling for the perfect fit. Understated sexy.
Shoes and dress, Cynthia Rowley. Earrings and rings, Sophie Hughes.

Cheers,
Renata
