The fashion show at the Kimmel Center last night was actually kind of....amazing!! I've been to some other fashion "events" here in Philadelphia that are just so off-the-mark and beyond lame, but I had a really good feeling about this one and it renewed my pride in Philadelphia. The show featured young designers from several universities and art schools, a few established designers who have ateliers and boutiques here in the city, and of course, Ralph Rucci, of the Chado by Ralph Rucci fame, who hails from South Philly and was the first (and one of two, to date) American designers to be invited to show at the Paris Haute Couture shows.
1.) A display of Ralph Rucci's red dresses. This really reminded me of the Valentino exhibit in Paris a couple years ago, did anyone make it to that?
2.) An altoid moment between Rucci and a very chic guest
3.) The always chic Denise Fike of
Fashion Plates and Dirty Dishes
4.) Me and my beloved thrifted dress
5.) Loved this girl's metallic dress and it's structured sleeves.
6.) Rakia Reynolds of
Skai Blue Media PR
7.) Priscilla Costa wearing one of her designs from her eponymous label,
here.
Runway photos to come!! Have a great and sunny weekend :)
Cheers,
Renata
