"Eggs in a basket" necklace - this is made from brass and brass wire, with 13 glass beads inside. The chain is brass and ribbon. It's a prototype, and it took a few hours to make, so hopefully the next attempt will be better and faster! This is for me to keep :)
This is a two-finger ring with Uncle Karl himself (Karl Lagerfeld, designer extraordinare) That way you can look very haute-couture while flicking people off.
This is the first from my "cage" collection, there are four polished stones from the Museum of Nat Science in Boston girl shop, I guess quartz and that like, on a bed of pink silk, held in place by the five bars placed on top. Its about 2 inches long and 1.5 across. I'm pretty happy with it.
Here's what I've made since I have been here, many more to come! Once I get better, I will start using silver, which I will purchase at the Grand Bazaar here in Istanbul. You buy little silver pellets and then you have to take them to this workshop in another neighborhood not too far away, where this big hairy guy melts the pellets and turns them into a sheet.
I have so many ideas but not enough time in the day! (The ring on the bottom right corner is made from an antique brass button my grandma gave me)
